Krishnagar Government Primary Teachers Training Institute was established in 1927 as Guru Training School. Since then it has been christened many times as Teachers’ Training School. Later it has been christened as Primary Teachers’ Training Institute. The Institute is located at Krishnagar, Nadia, West Bengal. The institute is fully Government institute under Govt. of West Bengal and also affiliated by West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) and recognized by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The medium of instruction is Bengali.

As a Government Primary Teachers’ Training Institute, recognized by NCTE and affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary education, we try our best to implement the goals and objectives for teacher education, set by NCTE, Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal and West Bengal Board of Primary education. Our mission is to provide the trainees adequate learning environment and necessary opportunities for professional skill development toenable themselves to effectively contribute to quality education.
